Projector Room

Six prototypes asking what happens when a slider stops being a slider. Point at the part of the frame that should become ink; drag the shadow to lift the sheet off the wall; handle the beam itself for aim, zoom and keystone; push the type to set margin and leading. Each one names the sliders it replaces.

A sandbox for the control style — knobs, faders, mode dials, bipolar scales, rockers, segment readouts and meters, in three skins. Gate is a Kodak Carousel; Meter is a light meter; Console is a VFD panel. Every component is driven by custom properties, so the chosen skin lifts straight into the tool.

A projector standing in a room, throwing a still onto a poster mounted square on the wall. The keystone falls out of where it actually stands — the beam's corners are cast and intersected with the wall. Drag it in the top-down plan. A trimmed preview shows just the sheet, ready to export.

The flat lab. Light composited as albedo × (ambient + lamp × slide) in linear space, with four draggable corner pins landing the beam by homography. Type finishes — ink, knocked out, raised, debossed, gloss varnish.

Poster on a plaster wall seen from an angle, with the whole scene shaded in wall space and thrown through one more homography for the camera. Superseded by 06, which tilts the light instead of the camera.

The same slide as light and as ink, side by side. Screen blending can brighten paper and type but never darken them; switch to multiply or normal and it behaves as a press instead, with an offset second impression.

Drop in a frame and reduce it to one bold ink colour. Threshold, posterise, blobbiness, grain, Bayer dither and scan lines. Pick ink and paper, or export on transparency.

Posters change over as if the strip is being pulled through a gate — inter-frame bar with sprocket holes, mechanical weave, and an exposure flash as the splice crosses the lens.
