The same mark, carrying whatever it sits on

The runtime mark

GS:FF, and the time of the thing it is on

What is it counting

Setting

Run it as a clock Count in frames, at 25 fps

Pick one

GS:FF already reads as a timecode, so let it be one. The mark carries the running time of whatever it is printed on: a poster for a programme carries that programme, a ticket carries its own screening, the site header carries the whole festival, and an ident can run the clock. Never the same twice, always the same form, and the number is always true. No sprockets, no frames, no beams: the film content is in the arithmetic.
