The vocabulary

The identity is meant to read as an institution first and a festival second: numbered, dated, filed, issued, superseded. Everything here uses the real programme — real screening codes, real running times — and the same mark. The register changes only the wording: plain says what a thing is, official says it the way a body with a stamp would, deadpan keeps the form and lets the content be strange. That second glance is where the personality lives.
