Aicher made colour, grids, schedules and numbers behave as one system; MIT Press found a signature that read as book spines and as the letters at the same time. This is that move for a festival: four rules, one for each line of the name, each as long as one of the edition’s own numbers. The structure never changes, the shape changes every year, and the shape is true. Read it as a wordmark from across a room and as a bar chart up close.
