A proposal: paper and black are permanent, and one ink is chosen for each edition, next to the rule. Information is always black, so it survives any printer and any stock. The ink carries the gesture: the mark, the dates, the big numerals. Its tints index the five days, which a one-colour press can print. Ten editions on, the archive reads as a run of ten inks.
